15-Year-Old Charged In Poughkeepsie Shooting Of Two

A 15-year-old teen has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of two men in broad daylight in the City of Poughkeepsie.

The teen, a City of Poughkeepsie resident, was arrested around 2 p.m. Tuesday by the City of Poughkeepsie Police and is being held in a detention center without bail, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

The shootings took place around 3:23 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in the area of S. Cherry and Church streets, Clark said.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. At the same time, Vassar Hospital called reporting that another gunshot victim, a 41-year-old man, had been brought to the hospital by private vehicle. 

The 41-year-old victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He was walking down the sidewalk and was an innocent bystander, Clark said.

The 28-year-old victim suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head. He is in critical condition in the ICU on life support, he added.
